Proceed for PIDURANGALA ROCK TREKKING.
At the base of Pidurangala Rock, you will find Pidurangala Sigiri Rajamaha Viharaya, which is a white temple. The hike only took us 20 minutes and was relatively easy despite the incline and some parts of the path being a little bit ‘off-road’. Halfway through the hike, you will reach the Pidurangala Temple, which takes you back in time although not quite rivaling the history of Sigiriya Rock. After you reach the temple there are only 5-10 minutes of trekking remaining. However, this part of the trail involves some bouldering. While it may seem easy to many it might be a bit challenging for some. There are no dangerous sections just a few boulders, which require a big step up.
Later afternoons proceed to CLIMB UP THE SIGIRIYA ROCK FORTRESS.
Sigiriya, meaning Lion Rock in Sinhalese, In the 5th century, King Kashyapa chose to build his new capital upon this rock. He built his palace at the top of the rock and decorated the sides with colorful frescoes. On a plateau halfway up, he built a gate, guarded by a statue of a lion. This gave rise to the name Lion Rock. You can still see the remains of the lion’s paws, although its head is long goneIt is now one of Sri Lanka’s seven UNESCO World Heritage sites Once through the entrance gate, you will find yourself amongst the fortress’s gardens. The gardens are lovely to walk around, To reach the top of Sigiriya, you will need to climb 1200 steps. Even though it sounds daunting it’s not that hard. Halfway to the top, you have the option to climb a spiral staircase, which leads to the beautiful frescoes and the mirror wall. Next, you will reach the mirror wall. The mirror wall used to be so polished that the king could see his own reflection when he walked alongside it. As you reach the last set of stairs before the top, you will come across the huge lion paw carvings. They are impressive, making you imagine how big the lion head must have been.

Proceed to TREKKING AT HORTON PLAINS NATIONAL PARK.
Horton Plains was declared a National Park in 1988 and covers 3,160 hectares of grasslands interspersed with forest and forms an undulating plateau more than 2,000 m (6,600 ft) high. The best time to visit these strangely exotic moorlands above Nuwara Eliya is in the early morning. Arriving at the entrance gate, you start your walk. The trail is clear throughout, reaching ‘Little World’s End’ in 45 minutes, walking through woodland, then 15 minutes later, the greater drop of World’s End. On a clear day, the view is incredible.
From this point, you can either return to the entrance the same way you came or continue an open pathway (no more shade) around hillsides until a short climb brings you to the ridge just above Baker’s Falls, where a track leads down to the water. The falls are about 20 metres high and are worth visiting if you are a keen walker and prepared to do the longer circuit. Returning to the entrance gate is along another open path and takes around 45 minutes. The entire walk is around 8 km if you walk to World’s End and back, or around 9 km (5.6 miles) if you do the full circuit.

Evening visit to DEMODARA NINE ARCES BRIDGE.
The glorious Nine Arch Bridge between Ella and Demodara station is one of the engineering marvels in the early 20th century. This bridge, which is almost 100 years old, has been built with blocks of stone and cement without any strengthening iron or concrete. The giant arches take the bridge on a curved path to link to mountains. The Bridge was commissioned in 1921 under the British Government. The World War One broke out and the steel consignment allocated for this site was seized and was used for war related projects. When the work came to a stoppage the Sri Lankan (named Appuhami) came forward and build the bridge with solid stone bricks and cement without steel.

Proceed for the HIKING AT ELLA ROCK.
Trekkers would love the place. It’s bit tiring to do the hiking. But it is definitely worth it. Once you got to the summit you will realize why we said so. The panoramic views it provides with mist and cloud covering the area, especially in the early mornings and the late evenings are something you should witness and that would suffice enough to say that you visited Ella.Total time for climbing up and down is 4 hours. Yes, sounds like a long journey. But the way up there is with full of diversity.
After procced for MINI ADAM’S PEAK HIKING.
It is 1141 m in height and from the entrance it takes up to 30-45 min for the hike. Views from the summit are incredible. 360 degrees panoramic views with clouds rolling in, is a treat to watch for any traveler.Hike itself is a worthy experience as you walk through lush green tea estates, talking to locals who are plucking and collecting tea leaves, working in the estate.
